Unilever's cruelty challenge!!

Unilever's reality show being shot in Thailand killed a guy named Saad Khan, an employee of RBS-Pakistan. The news is been reported in most of the international media but none in Pakistan dare to put in print as these greedy so called champions of free press are being paid by Unilever in terms of advertisements. Its really unfair!!

In may, another contestant in the Bulgarian version of 'Survivor' was died of heart attack after attempting for one activity during the contest.

That's a pity that these reality shows didn't go with proper hazard pre-cautions and first aid and medical on spot.

Reference to cruelty challenge, on contrary, Unilever Pakistan is trying to suppress the news, trying to close the blogs and websites holding the news, instead they should come up and share a public apology, it would enhance the image of the brand. Suppressing/ hiding the news is attracting attention of more people and well, everyone is giving more attention to it and creating a bad name to the brand.
Hope somebody is listening..

Pepsi versus Lal Sharbatt..

Pepsi since last couple of years is running a campaign that the drink offers much more than the traditional ‘Lal Sharbat offers’. Well, the idea definitely conveys the fact the biggest competition this cola company is facing from Lal drink manufacturers and that’s a reason in advertisements the firm tries to convince users that Pepsi is far better. –This Ramzan, the firm aired the third advertisement in row on this theme--

In my eyes the firm has no right to malign other products. Unfortunately in our country there are no advertising laws and there is no one to stop this multi-national.

The said ‘Lal Sharbat’ that includes brands like Rooh Afza or Jam-e-Shireen is a very nutritious drink as compare to Pepsi –a carbonated drink—which is not good for health and decreases body calcium and also create stomach and dental problems when taken frequently otherwise Lal Sharbat has no such side effects infact gives a soothing effect if taken at times of Low Blood Pressure and in summer.

In such circumstances the firm should be realistic and at once stop this black-mail/ mud-spilling campaign towards other traditional drinks.

Mobile manners "apnao"

The recent Public Service Messages by Paktel is an impressive initiative by this cellular company in training Mobile Users to adopt mobile manners. Its really a high time and we Pakistanis really need to be taught of behaving elegantly while using cell phone.

These telecom companies spend heavily on publicity but no one bothers to discipline the irreverent users creating mess with their fathomless mobile-habits. The step of Paktel is really a thing to be appreciated.

Who'z the Winner?

Hey do you know about LIANA?

No, what does it stands for??

Well, *hello* this is a Car and launched in competition with Honda’s Civic and Toyota’s Corolla by Suzuki Pakistan.

Acha…really…that’s nice!!

How you come to know?

That’s strange, haven’t you seen the advertisements in newspapers and billboards?? And well LIANA is the acronym of ‘Life In A New Age’.

Oh, that’s cool. But let me tell you something really interesting. I have seen today an awesome ad of Toyota announcing the launch of their new car ALTIS.

Oh yes, that’s a marvellous launch and well what a great ad…they have related the car with music. Thumbs-up!

Hmmm…. I don’t know what on earth happened in Suzuki’s mind to come up with such a mega-mega-low profile advertisement when they afford to create roar in the market…. I don’t know what response they got from the market?? But, will find out soon.

Ahem. Do let me know. OK, bye!

Bye-Take Care!

Quick and the Fabolous!

An easy way to get the pinnacle of success and fame.

Sponsor a cricket match (example: Pepsi Cola)
Indulge yourself in social welfare..a good cause, no doubt! (example: Unilevers, Arial)
Sponsor a video (Tulsi)
Sponsor an event like Basant (Tapal and Lipton)

But we Pakis are quite short sighted here….and as time goes by firms are recognizing the importance of corporate communication and image building. You can name it for promotion, targeted at selling your product.

CityFM-89

The said radio company is marketing themselves in these words: 'Crawling in every nook and cranny’ obviously they meant that the FM is being listened by every sort of person, here and there all over the city or may be the country.

Well, I must say the firm should Wake-Up!!...the medium of the radio channel is 80% English. The RJs (Radio Jokers may-be) and the songs are in foreign language. While the Pakistani ‘Awam’ listen and read if not 90 than 80 % in Urdu…so the ‘self appraised’ tag-line should be removed.
